Outreach

Last updated: July 21st, 2026

Here's a catch-all page for the various projects I work on to spread my passion for science. I am a hobby artist and photographer, and like to combine and apply these skills where applicable.

There's a large image backlog that needs to be uploaded for this page. Check back periodically to see more images!

Connecticut State Museum of Natural History

I work often with the Connecticut State Museum of Natural History (CSMNH) on various projects. Click the dropdowns for each event below for more information and pictures on each event; the most recent event is previewed first.

At Big Bird Day, I volunteered at the museum's tropical bird display to tell visitors about the vibrant plumage of South American and African birds in the collection, and passed out stickers for a "bird scavenger hunt" to visitors who came to my station to answer questions. Before the event itself, I assisted in identification of specimens. I additionally designed the collector "kiwi" patch!

Assisted in setup and answering mammal questions from visitors at Mega Mammal Day, themed after the mammalian megafauna housed in the museum collections. I also designed a sticker and collectible moose "patch" for this year's event.

For one amazing afternoon, the UConn Biodiversity Bonanza housed a showcase of natural history collections from the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and the CSMNH. I assisted in setup, and answered questions about our eggshell and raptor collection in connection to Rachel Carson's Silent Spring.

Two years in a row, I assisted in setup and volunteering at Parasite Day hosted by the CSMNH and UConn's "Bug Week". I helped answer questions and run activities relating to ectoparasites and tapeworms from visitors of all ages.

Citizen Science

I love community-based science projects, both as a contributor and someone who has managed projects in the past. More to come in this section, but for now, connect with me below on platforms I am active on. I have a passion for local biodiversity, and enjoy photographing local invertebrates, native plants, and birds.

Science Art

I draw stickers, posters, logos, comics, etc. for scientific outreach purposes. I have worked with the Connecticut State Museum of Natural History, the UConn Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and more. More examples coming soon.

Stickers

I like to design stickers for outreach events.

Photography

I love nature photography, and take a lot of pictures of birds and invertebrates; many of these photos I take make it onto my talks and posters. Gallery coming soon. For now, you can find a lot of my photographs on iNaturalist.
